Audi e-tron Maintenance Schedule | Audi Wilsonville

Audi e-tron Maintenance: A Basic Schedule For Portland Area Drivers

We all know how to maintain a gas-powered vehicle, but what kind of maintenance does an all-electric vehicle like the Audi e-tron need? And how often? Those are questions we hear often at our Audi Wilsonville dealership. So we want to cover some of the electric vehicle fundamentals and try to anticipate additional questions and concerns you might have.

Regular Maintenance Intervals

For gasoline-powered cars, the latest synthetic motor oils made it possible for oil change intervals to be stretched up to 10,000 miles for most models. The same basic time frame applies to the electric Audi e-tron lineup. Audi maintenance should be done every 12 months or 10,000 miles, whichever comes first.

Audi e-tron 10,000 Mile Maintenance

For our electric vehicle customers from Portland and Lake Oswego, OR, one of the first things our certified Audi technicians will check is the condition of your brakes. Your brake pads and the thickness of them will be examined to make sure they can stop your Audi e-tron properly. We'll also service your front and rear axle components along with your suspension. We'll look at the dust seals on your ball joints and tie rod ends, then check the condition of your tires and wiper blades.

Audi e-tron 20,000 Mile Maintenance

What we refer to as "Standard maintenance" is a higher level of attention given to your Audi e-tron than at the 10,000-mile mark. Standard maintenance is done every 20,000 miles and includes the same checkpoints as those mentioned above at 10,000 miles, plus quite a few other maintenance steps. One is an inspection of your Audi's body and chassis, looking for paint damage or corrosion. We also look carefully at your doors, hood and trunk. Our Audi factory-trained technicians will look carefully at a number of mechanical and functional checkpoints including:

  • Interior lights
  • Your panoramic sunroof
  • The rear axle drive
  • Your high-voltage cooling system
  • Your safety belts
  • The windshield washer and headlight washing system

Maintenance That Should Be Completed Every Two Years or 20,000 Miles

If you're one of our valued clients from Vancouver, WA or Salem, OR, be sure to schedule an appointment to have your brake fluid changed every 20,000 miles or at least once every two years, no matter how many miles you've driven. Your dust and pollen filter should also be changed every 20,000 miles in order to keep dust and dirt out of your cabin, and away from you and your passengers. Fragrance cartridges also get changed every two years.

As you can see, the maintenance recommended for an Audi e-tron is significantly different from the schedule recommended for a gas-powered Audi, but it's equally important. Please contact us if you have any questions and we hope you'll schedule your first - or next - Audi e-tron maintenance appointment soon at our Audi service center near Portland.
